Documenting referrals for depression and the use of the Mothers and Babies curriculum has been updated.
For any program using the Mothers and Babies Curriculum to address a positive depression screening, the following process can be followed.
First, Mothers and Babies Curriculum has to be turned on in SETUP > PREFERENCES > PG/PVR PREFERENCES.
When documenting an EPDS, PHQ-9 or CES-D with a positive score, home visitors have the ability to record a referral directly on the assessment tool.
A new question has been added in cases where the family is not receiving an external referral, but instead, receiving the Mothers and Babies Curriculum at home visits.
Here’s a screenshot of the bottom of one of these assessments.

Then on the visit records, Mothers and Babies Curriculum can be documented.

This update allows programs to indicate a positive depression screen is being addressed internally by the program’s services and not needing to create a Referral Record. An example of a report that is doing this is the MIECHV Form 2 IL.
